Nicole Johnson, LCSW
Since childhood, I wanted to help others. This conviction lead me to a bachelors degree in Social Work from Illinois State and then a masters degree in Social Work from Aurora University.
With 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked in public school settings, the non-profit sector, and private practice; all with a focus on helping children and families work through the ups and downs of life.
I am passionate about helping others feel their best and meet their personal goals. While my specialty is working with kids, adolescents and families, I enjoy working with all ages and issues, from all different backgrounds, needs and challenges.
My approach to therapy is practical, thoughtful and empathetic. It is grounded in research-based techniques and theory. I have a very personal, pragmatic and relational approach to therapy. I specialize in helping children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress or social difficulties. I enjoy helping children and families work through challenging behaviors, finding understanding and building stronger relationships.
I believe we are all more alike than we think, each privately handling our own insecurities, worries and pain. It takes great strength to share these things with others and be open to change. I feel honored to be a part of this process with clients.
My goal is for you to walk away from this process with a stronger sense of understanding and the skills you need to help you take on life with confidence. Call or email me to see if we are a good fit for each other. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation.
